The 10-day period of High Holy Days sets in on the Friday evening of September 13, 2007 with the observance of the Rosh Hashanah and rolls over to October and ends with the Yom Kippur on September 22, 2007. According to the Jewish Calendar, with the Rosh the counting of the New Year of 5768 takes off. The Jewish adopt a lunar calendar year. Thus the all festival timings depend on the observation of the moon.
